As CTO

For this higher education nonprofit, I served as CTO for 4+ years. I’m currently a Board member for their New Jersey region, as well. I loved my time as CTO at Braven. I transformed a 3 person scrappy team into a smoothly running 20+ team of software engineers, data engineers, Salesforce experts, and data visualization specialists. We overhauled the technology platform for students and did this all during the pandemic.

Founding engineer

I cut my teeth in education as founding engineer on the Summit Learning Platform, a personalized learning platform developed by Summit Public Schools and later the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. I built the first project based learning features, created the data warehouse architecture, and recruited our data science team.

engineer / manager

During the housing recession, I shelved my dream of becoming a professor and joined this thing called Facebook. I had a chance to build large-scale distributed systems and eventually manage a small data infrastructure engineering team. Most importantly, I polished off some of my rougher edges and learned to work as part of a team. I also learned how to step outside my job description and along with Lindsay Walker set the direction for Facebook’s Ph.D. graduate recruiting team.
